Motorola Droid 10 Commandments Wallpaper

I want to keep reminding myself how to be a authentic (true) Christian. I need a constant reminder. I look at my phone 100 times a day and I figured I should put the Ten Commandments on my wallpaper. I tried to find one online but no where is there a 10 commandments wallpaper for your droid. So I guess I’ll be the first to make one.

Take a moment to refresh yourselves. It can be disturbing when you find that you are not measuring up. I know I’m not and that is the problem. Hence my need for a constant reminder.

Since I put this up on my Droid, I figure to make one for my computer desk top. Since I look at my computer pretty much all day long. This one was fun because it was a much larger canvas to work with. I found other related graphics but picked things off of them. i got the water and Moses drawing off Google. So this is not all my art, it’s really just a manipulation. Any how, here it is. Download and use if you wish. God Bless.

So I’m really into arcade fight sticks lately. I’ve moved on from the traditional game pad usage to Arcade style controllers. It was a tough challenge at first. My years of game play experience wanted to do nothing more than quit the annoying joystick. I couldn’t fire off my HADOUKEN or counter with a cool SHORYUKEN! But with diligence and some stubbornness, I was able to conquer that learning curve. Now I’m pretty good at using them. I’ve become a better player as well.

So here I am purchasing my new controllers and then I find out that everyone is customizing them. Putting in better arcade parts if needed or using plexi glass to cover their own art. I was so amazed! So it got me thinking, hmmm what can a cool guy like me do?

Custom Madcatz Standard Edition Project

The first stick I customized was a MADCATZ STANDARD EDITION controller. It lacked official japanese arcade buttons and joystick. So I ordered them to match my design and went to Kinkos to order a LAMI-LABEL print of my design. Then I went home and 3.5 hours later. VIOLA!!!

I tried to sell it on ebay. My sister wanted to get a cool stick and wanted to buy it. I’m happy that it’s in good hands. I do miss it though. DAN is THA MAN!!

Custom Madcatz Tournament Edition Project

I went to a pawn shop looking for a used fightstick. Low and behold, I found one. It was only 15 bucks! But it was painted  blue all around the the buttons & balltop was painted red. The original casing was black, the ball top use to be yellow, the stick use to be black and the buttons were yellow and some white. The gorgeous cover was tortured with a sticky blue paint. This thing was UGLY! But I knew I could turn this guy around.

So here is my plan. Keep the casing the blue that it is. Make an akuma template cause his gi is already dark blue. Buy new buttons and ball top.

Here is my design idea.

I used screenshots of the game to help me with colors and style. I added the purplish flames to the floor and his back just like the game. I put akumas symbol in the background too. I took out the SSFIV logo and placed in the MvC3 logo.

Cutting the template was a hard task when I made the DAN stick. My circles where terrible and I was lucky the buttons covered them. So I do some research on youtube looking for circle cutters. Then I found this Martha Stewart circle cutter.

It is an awesome tool! I used it and made perfect circle cut outs. Martha is a very smart lady. I used thick and thin paper to practice on first. It feels a little funny when you first start. Try not to push too hard down on it. The blade is already sharp enough. Just a little pressure will do the trick.

I used and EXACTO knife to cut out the edges and the small rectangle on the upper left corner. I was very pleased with my work. I thought it looked clean.

Well, I’m waiting for my PLEXI GLASS cover to come in from TEK INNOVATIONS. It takes 14 days just to receive a confirmation that the product will get shipped. That is HALF A MONTH!!! C’mon guys, I’m sure somehow, someway you can improve your turn around time. Oh well. I need them and will consider them regardless if the plexi turns out marvelous.

So I’ll end with my final picture that I just took. The fightstick without plexi.

After spending some wasted hours on youtube, I stumbled onto some awesome homemade transformers costumes. My son saw it and obviously thought it was cool. He is lucky I loved it too and I thought to challenge myself by making our own.

The hardest part was trying to plan out how big make the costume. I seen too many costume where the child could barely walk. Their costume looke more like a transforming dwarf robot. Then some cosutmes were too small and the person looked like a turtle. Luckily I found some perfect boxes at work and here we go.

Stage 1: Cutup up boxes and create car cover.

This part was the slowest part of the whole process. It was scary deciding how big or small to make the costume. I had to make sure that the wearer was big enough to fit. I found some great handles that came in some monitor boxes from work. I just reversed them so that the handles are seen on the inside. That way the gauntlets will be easy to put on and take off. The feet still aren’t worked out completely. I was still having a difficult time figuring out how it can be worn without wearing out the bottom cardboard. So I thought to cut out some wooden panels at the exact height and width of the rear panels and attached with glue. I took some cardboard scraps and layed them on the inside, then stapling with heavy duty staples to the board. That way the original cardboard isn’t supporting the weight of the costume.

Stage 2: Primer and base yellow paint.

This is self explanatory.

Stage 3: Test wearability and design decals.

This was the fun part. I spent many hours on Google Images and researched the BumbleBee transformed mode. The Camaro is an awesome car by the way. I enjoyed studying it. First I measured every dimension of this costume, sides, tops and bottoms. I took that info and created a vector template with Adobe Illustraor. Using my previous photos I manipulated the decals onto the photo. That way I was sure of the design before it went to print.

The decals were printed and then with some time and effort, I was able to get the decals on perfectly.

Stage 4: TRICK OR TREAT!

It is done. With a weeks time we can finally show the finished costume. We gave the suit it’s first real test run and it passed with flying colors.The main goal was to get the car mode to look slick like in the movie. The robot mode had to blend with the store bought outfit underneath. Choosing to use the actual hands and feet for the bottom of the boxes worked perfectly.

It’s early Halloween morning and we are ready for the big night! My son was good enough to let me post these images and video online. He is also brave enough to enter into a costume contest this year. We hope to win! That would be icing on the cake.

BUMBLEBEE! Transform and ROLL OUT!

I am very happy with this project too. This was the first menu that I was in charge of designing. I basically designed all print material for the entire restaurant. Designed coasters to posters! Hey that rhymed. I am sad to say that this client’s restaurant went down and my work is no longer available to be seen.

I will volunteer is an organization dedicated to building stronger communities by being an effective resourse for all non-profit organizations. I was really happy to help them out when the company started. My website is long gone but the are still using my logo.

This is a logo that was not used. We did manage to get their site up with blue colors rather than purple. I was very happy with the outcome of this logo.

A guys comes up to me and says, make me a logo with a mango in it. That was a first and it was also a great challenge. This entire graphic is vector.
